Living Sculptures!

October 20th, 2011

It’s amazing what the human mind can create. Theo Jansen has been creating what he calls “Strandbeests” out of pvc for years now. Watch these amazing creatures come to life; a testament to the brilliance of having too much time on your hands and an awesome brain!

Explore Media loves art because that’s what we do every day. Check out our Fort Wayne video productions to experience the art of Explore Media!

Purveyors of Ideas

October 18th, 2011

http://vimeo.com/7217911

Want to know what we really think our niche at Explore Media, an Indiana video production company, is?  We take an idea, a story, a problem that our clients need to convey in a video medium, and we filter the information down into an easily understood, well-paced, entertaining visual nugget.  In short, we think of ourselves not as creators of new ideas, but rather purveyors of the stories our clients need communicated.  For example, ever wonder how recycling works?  This video is a great example of this concept!

A specialty focus for our team where we exercise these skills all the time is in videos and TV spots for universities.  Call it college video, university video production, higher-education promotional videos, or

iPhone Time!

October 13th, 2011

The iPhone 4s is finally ready to hit shelves, and no one is more ready for this than yours truly! I’ve been a Sprint customer for two year and I was literally on the verge of changing providers because I wanted an iPhone. When I heard the 4s was going to be available through Sprint I nearly flipped (psychologically speaking). Check out this article on the many facets of the newest invasion of iPhonedom: Click Here

Explore Media uses not only iPhone’s, but also some of the coolest gear you could imagine to make our productions come to life. Check out our Fort Wayne Video Productions and see how our palette shines!

Yeo Valley

October 12th, 2011

The edible organics local food movement is just so cool…I wish I could completely jump on board but I’m not rich enough to afford it, and I’m too lazy and like eating while watching football a little too much.  BUT, this commercial spot from Whitehouse Post (the London branch, though they have Chicago video editing offices as well as LA and NYC) makes Britain’s Yeo Valley Organics pretty darn appealing.  OK, it’s a little spoofy, and I’m not a boy-band fan, but I appreciate the tongue-in-cheek ability to poke a little fun at yourself.  Must be a self-deprecating Brit thing!

Explore Media also edits videos for companies in the Chicago and Indiana video editing markets.  We’d love to get Yeo Valley, but also have the producing and writing chops to handle chicago museum video as well. check out our museum video work here.

Arrested Development Back

October 3rd, 2011

For fans of Fox’s critically acclaimed but poorly rated series, Arrested Development, today a bombshell of good news: the series will come back to TV for a short run leading up to a much-anticipated movie!  Read more here.

Explore Media professional video creators are no stranger to the Arrested Development phenomenon.  During lunch you can often hear the series being streamed (and laughed with) in our main video editing suite.  If you’re interested in what we actually do when we’re NOT watching Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, and the other now-famous characters of Fox’s Arrested Development, check out one segment of our video production services: credit union marketing/promotional videos!

Fantasy Football Stinks

September 27th, 2011

I know, I know, this is supposed to be the Explore Media blog…and don’t worry, we’re getting there soon, but let me just say: my fantasy football team, as usual, is pretty awful.  You build your team based on projections of players; but in a team sport like the NFL, a number of variables like players, coaches, matchups, and of course, injuries can mean your highly-ranked on paper players can turn out to be duds.  Top 10 reasons Fantasy Football Stinks.

Games like this remind me of why I love working as a video producer for Explore Media; we’re encouraged to put forth our individual ideas on projects.  And the team here is much like the New England Patriot’s offense (to continue the NFL analogy)…a well-oiled system that plugs in team-oriented individuals to succeed regularly despite the obstacles or unique situations.  Though you won’t come to us for fantasy football advice, you can count on us to deliver web videos and television commercials that complete your unique vision.
Switching gears just a tad, my 2 cents on the economic issues we’re facing in the US: Keep Spending!  For a system based largely on consumer confidence, methinks we might want to earmark a couple million from these billion dollar bailouts on Marketing.  Consumers see the up and down everyday news of Wall Street and 1 bad week can seriously tilt an economy towards a bear market; let’s market the positives of the overall market and work on together pulling ourselves towards tomorrow everyday.  This is not 2008, there are no Lehman Brothers failures coming, the scandals are over.

We’re focusing this week from our Fort Wayne, Indiana area offices on the positives of our own financial and economic contributions: Credit Union Video Production.

RED Hot Competition!

September 22nd, 2011

Once upon a time RED had the market-driver-seat when it came to 4k video, but it seems that RED may have to take shotgun to a new 4k contender; a little company whose name you may recognize as “Sony”! Sony has debuted its “F65″ (a 4k wonder with a mammoth 8k sensor). It is said in the Halls of Super HD Camera Legend: “there shall be another camera who’s sensor shall rival even the RED Epic”…this is that camera! Read More.

Cash Video Project

September 12th, 2011

See the video

You don’t have to be a Johnny Cash fan to love this communal video art project; people from around the world submitted Cash drawings set in a common template, and then viewers “curate” the frames by voting at www.thejohnnycashproject.com

See the doc about the video

This looks like something our friends at the Elkhart ArtWalk would love, and the creativity employed in the idea and individual drawings reminds me of something Explore Media’s chicago video editing team would put together.
