HTML5 VS. FLASH

July 1st, 2010

You probably (unless you’re a web developer) haven’t heard of the new “HTML5” standardization. This is a change in code that has a possibility to overthrow the Adobe Flash-based web development. If you have an iPad you’ve probably notice its lack of Flash support; could this be Apple’s way of pushing the new HTML5 code? The truth is Flash isn’t going anywhere (at least for a while) Read More

Verizon & iPhone DEAL!!

June 30th, 2010

For those of you who’ve been complaining (along with this blogger until I switched to AT&T 1.5 years ago) about no iPhone on your Verizon network, your day has finally arrived.  Starting in January 2011, Verizon will start supporting the Apple iPhone. Read USA Today article here.  One small note, I have been incredibly pleased with AT&T’s customer service, especially in their physical store locations compared to Verizon, if you’ve ever been to a Verizon store I think you know what I’m talking about, but back to the iPhone announcement:  This is monumental, not just for consumers, not just for Verizon, but especially for Apple, who have already sold more than 50 millions iPhones since they dramatically entered the cell phone market in 2007.  Is there any other company who can claim this kind of absolute expertise in their product?  Apple had never made a cell phone, didn’t have the market history, network, or credibility, but they’ve made exactly 1 product, and it’s changed the path of mobile devices FOREVER! (Okay, a bit over-dramatic, I know)  And now that they’re with Verizon, they’re guaranteed to sell gobs more of iphones.  Buy your Apple stock now!

While we don’t claim total market domination with one product, Explore Media’s Fort Wayne area video producers do strive to make smart, stylish, and creative digital videos & TV Spots.  And we use Apple products to do it.  Guess what else?  We love storytelling, especially historical or interesting (or both) stories we can produce for the museum video production industry.

Soundtrack Means Everything

June 29th, 2010

Hearing a certain song can instantly take you back and change your mood in a heartbeat. That’s certainly the case when someone puts on some classic Lauryn Hill.

At Explore Media we take our South Bend, Elkhart and Goshen Video Production soundtracks seriously. A song can really set the mood in a University video production. Check out some examples HERE!

Word Fun!

June 24th, 2010

We came across quite an interesting web-site the other day. “Wordle” is an amazing site that lets you either write text in a dialog box, or add an html link, the program then takes your text information and proceeds to create beautiful word-art pictures. The color and layout of the pictures can be customized and eventually output to a vector .pdf. Check it out!

Upgrade iPhone Software!

June 23rd, 2010

If you’re sitting with an iPhone 3G and are disappointed you can’t afford the new iPhone 4G, don’t despair!  I opened my iTunes the other day and was surprised to see an update waiting for me ( I have an iPhone 3G ).  After a lengthy install, the changes were immediately evident to me:  you can now put your apps into folders, so no more scrolling across 10 pages, and you can make playlists of your ipod music in the iphone.  Apart from the other smaller changes, these were enough to make even an iPhone 3G user happy with the iPhone 4.0 OS update!  You can get an easy read of the new features available here.  Read an engadget review of iPhone 4 here.

Much like an iPhone 3G, if you have an Explore Media video production, you won’t feel like you’ve got a museum artifact.  Our digital storytelling is smart, creative, stylish, and clearly understood.  Located near Fort Wayne, Indiana, our services aren’t hemmed in by geography or smallness of mind…bring your old project for an upgrade, or try a new Explore Media “4G” video or TV spot today!

June 16th, 2010

If you like strange places to visit, offering strange things to look at, check out this list of weird museums from around the world.  My favorite?  The MOBA…Museum of Bad Art in Boston.  Another great list with pictures of US wacky museums is here, beware there are a few bikini babes for some unknown reason on this page…the PEZ museum takes number 1.
Explore Media is located near Fort Wayne and besides producing custom, creative videos for a variety of clients in Northern Indiana, we also like to dabble in storytelling for museum video production.

It’s Time To Listen To Some Herbie Hancock

June 15th, 2010

When it came time to hit the books in South Bend and do some studying in college there was rarely a better candidate for my headphones than Herbie Hancock. Something about the album Head Hunters really got the synapses firing. You can take a listen to Herbie’s newest album HERE.

Explore Media  has not yet had the chance to use that funky bass line in “Chameleon” in one of our University Video Productions yet but we’re hoping we get the chance.

The story behind this picture is the stuff out of museum artifact lore.  An 1860-era photo of two young slave children with haunting expressions on their face, check out the story here.
