Welcome Directors Dinh and Christian to the growing Explore Media family! From visual, stylized work to comedy, music-driven and dialogue, the styles of these directors are uber-creative, ultra-professional, and super-ready to treat your next creative brief!

Dinh Thai is a Los Angeles-based Director who brings a youthful, multi-cultural viewpoint to his creative, energetic productions. His work blends visual style with realism, focusing on dialogue, comedy, celebrities, and storytelling — all with a nod to strong musical soundtracks. Growing up in Vietnam, France and suburban L.A., Dinh’s diverse cultural background has richly informed his approach and aesthetic. Thai’s commercial clients include Adidas, T-Mobile, and Toyota.

Christian Clark, also based in Los Angeles, directs works that are cinematic in structure and multi-faceted in styles, with the rare ability to cross effortlessly from humorous into simple, good storytelling. His short film for Unilever’s Cornetto Cupidity series, Travellers, won a Silver Lion in Branded Content at Cannes, where Christian was also shortlisted for the Shots/CFP-E Young Director Award.

Christian’s commercial clients include Chevy, Downey, Nestea, Klondike, Marriott and Bridgestone Tires. A Yale graduate, Christian honed his unique directing style studying at the Upright Citizens Brigade and The Book Shop – School for Ads.

In 2017, Dinh Thai released his first narrative short film, Monday, a fictional piece with autobiographical elements, which he wrote and directed. Monday has garnered over 40 festival awards, including multiple wins for “Best Director,” and placed first in HBO’s inaugural Asian Pacific American Visionaries Competition. The film is now streaming on Cinemax.

“We’re very excited to join forces with Dinh and Christian” says Explore Media Executive Producer Seth Deahl. Seth continues, “Dinh recently won a best director award for HBO so his work is very timely, bright, syncopated and fresh. He has an urban flair mixed with West Coast cultural progressiveness, and really excels at music-driven pieces, dialogue and performance to camera.

“Christian’s work is so interesting because he has serious comedic chops for brands like Chevy and Downey, but then you look at his work for the Marriott family of hotels and it’s beautiful, elegant and includes GFX. As evidenced by his young director awards, he is someone to keep an eye on. We’re proud to represent and creatively collaborate with Christian.”
