Jane Chow

Born in Hong Kong, Jane first learned English by absorbing herself in streaming and internet culture. She used her self-taught editing & color grading creativity to gain over 500,000 followers on Tumblr. After moving to Los Angeles and graduating from Loyola Marymount Film School, she turned this internet storytelling interest into a career, first with ViacomCBS/AwesomenessTV, creating Gen Z content that reached millions of people online, and now as a commercial director creating for brands like TikTok and Tinder. These experiences formed her culturally relevant approach to storytelling and her passion to create work that resonates with young generations in new and exciting ways.

Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, Jane brings her global perspective to commercial directing, and as a female, an Asian-American, and a director with her finger on the pulse of Gen Z culture, she is a genre-busting trailblazer who stretches the boundaries of her craft and creates work that feels refreshing and progressive.

Chow brings a vibrant and unconventional color palette to her work for Tinder, TikTok, and the Biden-Harris campaign, as well as music videos for artists mxmtoon and Tiffany Day. Her directing has been featured on BBC News Chinese, Booooooom TV, NME, shots, Promonews, AsAmNews, and more. Her award-winning international web series, “Pineapple”, screened at the Oscar-qualifying Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and Geena Davis’ Bentonville Film Festival.  Jane also just-released a film, “Sorry for the Inconvenience”, which won the Deutsche Bank Frieze Los Angeles Film Audience Award.
